I’ve added two Chrome extensions recently to show me something nice when I am creating a new tab/window. The first is Tabby Cat.

It shows random cats with items (or other animals if you buy them) any time you open a new tab.

Another Chrome extension in the same vein is Color Tab.

Instead of cute animals it shows you pleasant color schemes you can save for later.
